The Trail of NHI Deceit
Between 2008 and 2010, the Defense Intelligence Agency ran a $22 million program called the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program, or AAWSAP.
Its official mandate was to study unidentified aerial phenomena for national security purposes. Its actual scope was far stranger. The program—managed by a former DIA intelligence officer named Dr. James Lacatski and staffed by PhD-level scientists—investigated everything from “invisible entities” to “portals” to what they called the “Hitchhiker Effect.”
And along the way, they documented something that most of Ufology has been reluctant to admit.
Non-human intelligence lies.
Not occasionally. Not by omission. Not through misunderstanding.
Actively, deliberately, and systematically.
This is not speculation. This is not a fringe theory. This comes from a Congressionally-funded, Pentagon-reviewed, public-released government program. The evidence is in the books Lacatski has published—each one cleared by the Department of Defense for public release.
What follows are the specific, documented examples of NHI deception from the AAWSAP investigation. They form the foundation for a radical reexamination of every contact claim, every abduction narrative, and every “message from the stars” that has ever been published.
The GPS Spoofing: When Reality Becomes a Lie
Dr. Travis Taylor was the principal scientific investigator on the AAWSAP team at Skinwalker Ranch—a 512-acre property in Utah that Lacatski described as a place where “UFOs and the paranormal happen all at once.”
Taylor’s job was to apply rigorous scientific methodology to phenomena that seemed to defy it. And one of the first things he documented was a form of deception so precise it could only be called intelligent.
GPS signals over the ranch stopped working. But that was not the strange part.
The strange part was what happened next. Taylor reported:
“GPS signals over the ranch—and sometimes it stops at the fence line on the ranch, not just in the region—get jammed, and stop working. And even are spoofed to make vehicles think that they’re underneath the surface, and not where they are. “
This is not a malfunction. This is active, targeted disinformation.
The phenomenon does not simply disable GPS. It replaces accurate location data with false data. It creates a believable but entirely incorrect reality for any navigation system that enters its zone. Taylor noted that this capability could “cause airplanes to crash.” It had already destroyed “$50,000 drones” that the team attempted to deploy.
What kind of intelligence engages in location spoofing?
Not one that is indifferent to human observation. Not one that is simply “passing through.” This is an intelligence that understands what GPS is, understands how humans use it, and has the technical capability to feed false information into our systems.
This is deception as a deliberate strategy.
The Telescope Database Erasure: The Performance of Disappearance
If the GPS spoofing suggested technological sophistication, what happened next suggested something else entirely: a performative, almost theatrical, quality to the deception.
Taylor described the incident:
“We had telescopes where *the databases inside the telescopes were erased real time while we were watching them. * And there’s no mechanism for that. If I want to do that, I don’t even know how to reverse engineer that phenomenon.”
At the same moment the databases were being erased, a sphere flew over the ranch—”unmistakably an unidentified flying object.”
Consider the implications.
The phenomenon did not simply avoid detection. It allowed itself to be seen—visually, by human witnesses—while simultaneously destroying the digital record of its presence. The erasure happened in real time, while the investigators were watching it happen.
This is not a creature hiding in the shadows. This is a magician performing a trick. The audience sees the dove; the camera records nothing. The phenomenon knows it is being studied and is actively managing the evidence that will survive.
The result is a perfect deception machine: eyewitness testimony without physical confirmation. Believable stories without verifiable data. The phenomenon leaves just enough trace to be undeniable, but never enough to be understood.
The Hitchhiker Effect: The Deception of Place
Perhaps the most significant deception documented by AAWSAP is what they called the “Hitchhiker Effect.”
The initial assumption—the deception the phenomenon itself seemed to encourage—was that Skinwalker Ranch was the anomaly. A “haunted” piece of land where strange things happened. Investigators could visit, study, and leave.
That assumption turned out to be false.
AAWSAP investigators discovered that simply visiting the ranch was enough to trigger the phenomenon. And once triggered, it followed them home.
The Axelrod Case
A team leader given the pseudonym “Jonathan Axelrod” had been warned about the hitchhiker effect before his first visit to the ranch. He went anyway.
After his visit, his sons began reporting blue, red, and white orbs floating through their bedroom in Virginia. Shadow figures stood by their beds at night. A werewolf-like creature lurked in their garden. His wife heard footsteps and kitchen clattering after everyone had gone to sleep.
The phenomenon had traveled from Utah to Virginia—attached not to a place, but to a person.
The DIA Agent
A female DIA agent who had been assigned to the Skinwalker Ranch investigation returned to her apartment to find wine bottles flying through the air and black shadow figures appearing at her roommate’s bedside.
She was a counterintelligence officer. She had spent her career evaluating threats. She had no explanation.
Dr. Taylor’s Vortex
Even the principal scientific investigator was not immune. After leaving the ranch, Taylor’s car turned itself off as he pulled out of his driveway. When he got out to investigate, he looked up and saw “an odd vortex in the clouds above my house.”
The car then restarted normally.
The deception here is profound.
The phenomenon presents itself as location-bound —a “hotspot” that can be studied, contained, and understood as a geographic anomaly. But this is misdirection. The true nature of the phenomenon is attachment-bound . It does not reside in the soil of Utah. It attaches to people and follows them.
Any investigation that focuses on geography is chasing a ghost. The real vector is human.
As Taylor later noted, the team became “always nervous about talking about the hitchhiker effect, because we might stimulate it.” The phenomenon appeared to be aware of being studied—and responsive to attention. Talk about it, and you might trigger it.
This is not a blind force of nature. This is an intelligence that listens.
The Men in Black: When the Phenomenon Wears a Costume
Perhaps the most direct statement about NHI deception from the AAWSAP program came from its operational manager, Dr. James Lacatski.
The Men in Black have been a staple of Ufology since the 1950s—strange, robotic, anachronistic figures who visit UFO witnesses and pressure them to remain silent. The conventional interpretation has always been that they are government agents, intelligence operatives running a disinformation campaign.
Lacatski offered a different interpretation.
In a recent interview, he stated that the Men in Black may be “part of the phenomena” —not government agents at all, but the phenomenon itself wearing a human mask.
Kelleher, Lacatski’s colleague and co-author of Skinwalkers at the Pentagon, confirmed: “They are part of the phenomena. (Not only government agents.)”
Lacatski elaborated on the deceptive function:
“What if they are an element of reverse psychology? While they appear to ‘bury’ the phenomena, they might actually confirm it, on purpose.”
This is deception at the meta-level.
If Lacatski is correct, the phenomenon is not merely lying about its identity. It is impersonating human institutions —creating the illusion of a government cover-up that may not exist, or may exist only as a reflection of the phenomenon’s own actions.
The witness who encounters a Men in Black figure believes they have been threatened by a human agent. They may become more convinced of the reality of UFOs because “the government is trying to suppress the truth.” But that entire chain of reasoning is built on a deception. The “agent” was never human. The “suppression” was never government. The witness has been manipulated into a belief system that serves the phenomenon’s purposes.
What those purposes are remains unclear. That they involve deception is not.
The BAASS Ten Month Report: Deception as a Research Category
The internal BAASS Ten Month Report (2009), prepared for the Defense Intelligence Agency, formalized the study of deception-related phenomena.
The report included research into:

The report concluded that “current biology and physics models are insufficient” to explain these interactions and that a “new field of science is needed” to study how non-human intelligence interfaces with human consciousness.
In other words: the phenomenon is engaging in activities that our current scientific frameworks cannot account for. And those activities include the systematic manipulation of what humans perceive, think, and believe.
The Pattern Emerges
Taken together, the AAWSAP documentation reveals a consistent pattern:

The phenomenon lies about where it is. It lies about what it is. It lies about who it is. And it lies directly to your brain.
Why This Matters for Every UFO Contact Claim
The AAWSAP program was not run by fringe researchers. It was run by a former DIA intelligence officer, staffed by PhD scientists, funded by Congress, and cleared for public release by the Department of Defense.
Its findings include the systematic documentation of non-human intelligence engaging in deliberate, multi-domain deception.
If this is true—and the evidence is now public—then every contact claim, every abduction narrative, and every “message from the stars” must be reexamined.
- When a being says “we come in peace,” why should you believe it?
- When a being says “you volunteered for this mission,” why should that be anything other than another layer of deception?
- When a being says “we are from Zeta Reticuli,” why assume that is true when AAWSAP documented the phenomenon impersonating government agents?
The deception is not a bug. It is the operating system.
What Comes Next
This post has focused exclusively on what a single government program documented about NHI deception in a specific time and place.
But the pattern did not begin with AAWSAP.

And the only way out is to stop believing what we are told—by anyone—and start looking at what the phenomenon does, not what it says.
